You could qualify for a one-year extension of the TotilPay Go subscription, free of charge!

The National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs (NAFMNP) has been awarded a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service (USDA FNS). This cooperative agreement will enable NAFMNP to continue their dedicated support for direct marketing farmers (DMFs) and farmers markets (FMs) across the nation to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits through the MarketLink program. This agreement is set to span from fiscal years 2024 - 2026.

Under the agreement, MarketLink (in partnership with Novo Dia Group's TotilPay) will continue to serve DMFs and FMs by providing a comprehensive suite of services, including:

  1. One-on-one assistance with the SNAP retailer application

  2. Free Bluetooth SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card reader compatible with iOS and Android devices (iOS 12/Android 5 or higher)

  3. At least one free year of the TotilPay Go app subscription needed to process SNAP payments*

  4. No transaction processing fees for using the app

*To ensure the success of SNAP programs for farmers markets and farmers, MarketLink will extend the TotilPay Go app subscription to DMFs and FMs earning $500 or more in SNAP sales annually. Farmers and farmers markets that achieved the $500 sales mark in the year prior to October of 2023 will have their TotilPay Go subscription automatically renewed for an additional free year. Novo Dia Group will send you an email if you qualify for the free extension.

For those that apply after October of 2023, you will qualify for a one-year extension if you process $500 or more in SNAP sales one year from the date of your activation.

Direct Marketing Farmers Can Now Accept SNAP Online

The MarketLink team has been working with GrownBy and Worldpay from FIS to develop a secure PIN-based platform that allows direct marketing farmers to accept SNAP transactions online. Access to SNAP online payments is part of NAFMNP's commitment to developing innovative solutions that work for farmers, markets, and Federal Nutrition Programs participants.

The first direct marketing farm authorized to accept SNAP Online is River Queen Greens, a vegetable farm in New Orleans, Louisiana. "Our farm brings sustainably grown food into New Orleans kitchens, and we're excited to offer SNAP Online as a way to increase our diverse community's access to healthy, local produce," says River Queen Greens owner, Annie Moore.

For interested farmers, the first step is to become a SNAP authorized retailer. Then the MarketLink team can guide you through the additional steps to become SNAP Online authorized as well as set up your GrownBy and WorldPay by FIS accounts. Start today by submitting your application at www.marketlink.org/apply.
