Apply for SNAP
Each state has their own human services agency that will work with you to determine your qualification. Please contact your local human services office for support. Below are some readings to get a better understanding of SNAP qualifications
Apply for WIC
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is available for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding pospartum women, and to infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritious risk. Please learn more about your local program by contacting your local human service agency.
GrowNYC
GrowNYC greenmarkets are located in every borough of New York City and all locations accept SNAP and FMNP. They participate in Healthy Food Bucks so for every $2 spent on vegetables and produce in SNAP / EBT / P-EBT, get bonus $2 Health Buck, up to $10 per visit.
How to double your SNAP EBT dollars when buying fruits and vegetables
Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) is available in more than 25 states. If you receive SNAP Benefits, then you are automatically eligible for the program. Find out where you can redeem DUFB by visiting their website.
Find a nearby farmers market or farm that will accept SNAP EBT and other federal nutrition benefits.
