Important Things
to Know

  1. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is sometimes called EBT, food/nutrition assistance or “food stamps.”
  2. Your applying for SNAP does not prevent someone else from receiving benefits. SNAP is designed to assist individuals and households with low incomes, and applying for benefits does not impact the eligibility of other people.

The SNAP Eligibility Calculator helps individuals and families determine their eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Developed by a team of technologists and policy experts, the tools adapt to policy changes across all states. The website is not government-affiliated, and users are advised to verify eligibility through official channels.

SNAP Screener is an independent website and pre-screener tool created by Ben Molin and Andreas Vandris to help individuals understand their eligibility for SNAP benefits. It is based on a comprehensive review of SNAP policy manuals from all states, offers support for various household types and benefits, and is available in Spanish.
