USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) works to end hunger and obesity through the administration of 15 federal nutrition assistance programs including WIC, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and school meals. In partnership with State and Tribal governments, their programs serve one in four Americans during the course of a year. Working with public, private and non-profit partners, their mission is to increase food security and reduce hunger by providing children and low-income people access to food, a healthful diet and nutrition education in a way that supports American agriculture and inspires public confidence. No American should have to go hungry.

National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs (NAFMNP)

The National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs (NAFMNP) is a non-profit corporation founded in 1992. It is the nation’s only organization that links States, the District of Columbia, Indian Tribal Organizations, Territories and others with a stake in USDA’s Farmers’ Market Nutrition Programs (including local fruit and vegetable growers and low-income families and seniors) with a shared mission. This mission is to cultivate opportunities for consumers to buy fresh produce from local growers.

The Novo Dia Group (NDG) is a technology service and software development firm founded to assist clients in implementing cost-effective solutions while improving citizen services. NDG offers a farmers market solution that is affordable and meets the requirements of processing SNAP, WIC, FMNP and CVB benefits. TotilPay is a suite of applications designed to enable farmers markets the ability to process WIC, SNAP, credit, and debit transactions. TotilPay Go is an application that works on both iOS and Android smart devices.

GrownBy

GrownBy

GrownBy is an initiative of Farm Generations Cooperative, a company that is working to build fair technology for farms. The development of the GrownBy app began in 2019 and launched in March 2020. Any farmer who downloads the app and sells a product on it is eligible to buy an equity stake in the company. With a member share, a farmer can receive a portion of company profits. Farmer-members can also vote on major company decisions, such as the farmer representatives to the board of directors.
